AEROSIL(R): A valuable product that goes beyond mere powder.
Due to the hydrogen bonding of the silanol groups, a small amount of addition provides the necessary thickening properties and thixotropic nature for handling liquid substances such as unsaturated polyesters and epoxy resins. AEROSIL(R) is produced through the high-temperature hydrolysis of chlorosilanes in an acidic hydrogen flame.
